The Wudworx Board Maker Plugin for SketchUp was made to help woodworkers and new users especially in getting into SketchUp without having to deal with manually creating components and what not, and by avoiding the too-often-experienced strange glueing between parts, and strange movements of models.

This plugin is fairly straight forward. you start by creating a 2D rectangle that then follows the mouse and becomes a 3D board which at the end of it all is automatically made into a component for you. you can see it in action in this demo:

To Install the plugin, download the .zip file and:

• Extract the wwxboardmaker.zip to a temporary location on your hard drive.
  
• Copy the extracted wudworx.rb and wudworx folder to your plugins location (\library\application support\Google SketchUp7\SketchUp\Plugins\ on a Mac, or C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7\plugins\ on a PC)
  
• Restart Sketchup
  
• in Preferences->Extensions, Enable Wudworx if not already enabled
