It helps to plan out what and where. Even better when the rough sketches have been done to be able to do it all to scale, right down to the dog asleep on the floor.
The dog is in scale to the jointer and table saw? Wow, that's a big dog, must be a dingo.

I will probably move a few things around Ben. I am more of a "do it and try it guy" than someone who can stick to a plan.Dave,Just a suggestion but you may want to have your planer and miter saw in the same area as they are used for breaking down and preparing stock.
As I actually created the space and walked around in it the whole layout has changed.
