Reclaimed old-growth Douglas Fir

Shane Jimerfield

Resawed, flattened and smoothed about 300 feet of reclaimed old-growth Douglas Fir for some face frames, stiles and rails. They are for kitchen cabinets that will be going in a nice little country cottage. I love quarter-sawn old-growth Douglas Fir - nice tight clear grain. These cabinets are going to be charming, yet have a bit of rustic country.

For good, or bad - the old-growth forests of Oregon help build this country - the schools, libraries, and houses. It's nice to see these forests regenerating, and to see these old timbers get a second life.
