jmaichel
I am going to build a variation of the COD but am going to start with some nightstands before I tackle a dresser. I want to use the Domino for the M & T joinery but not sure it will work with the grooves in the legs for the panels. Do I need to make a stopped groove instead of having it run the length of the leg? I know that Marc used haunched tenons for part of the joinery. I think I can do something similair using different sized domino stock, has any one ever tried this? Thanks in advance! James
wdwerker
We have used dominoes in the corners of a cope and stick raised panel door. Used the deepest plunge setting on the groove side and 15 mm on the tongue side. I think they were 8 x 40 dominoes. The door frame was about 15/16 thick, the router bit set wouldn't let us cut any thicker. The domino cut right through the groove with no problem. HunterL
i'm interested if you had any success using Dominoes in lieu of the haunched tenons. If so, details? I'm considering the same. Thanks.
wdwerker
Yea, that's what I was talking about . I have since made my own domino stock so I could cut widths and lengths that they don't sell . I made them to fit all 3 width settings. Carefully rip stock oversized, drum sand to exact fit and round the corners on the router table.
