680
You know if you made a coffee cup with your sombrero picture on it.....there would be a lot of members who bought it.
Coop
Marc, Back on 9-19-2010 when you started this thread, you mentioned that there were 2,000 members and 8,000 post. Just curious, would you have a current count?
thewoodwhisperer
If you go to the Wood Talk Online home page and scroll down, you'll see the forum stats published right there. Looks like we are about to hit 10,000 members and 146,000 posts. I guess we grew a bit since then? Not bad for a forum that intentionally TRIES to stay small. JoeN
How does it work? Do I have to see the item I want on the add or can I just simply open this website and then say rockler's website and then search from there for what I actually want? Beechwood Chip
You have to click through from this site to the sponsor, and then make a purchase. Or, you can click through from this site to the sponsor, and then bookmark that page. In the future, if you make a purchase using that link, this site will get the credit. Brendon_t
It looks like the ads won in the conversion.
thewoodwhisperer
What do you mean? The ads have been there for a while now. Only thing that changed with the conversion is the persistent sidebar. Edited August 12, 2015 by thewoodwhisperer
RPCV_Woodworker
Might just be me, but the adds are way less obstructive with the new setup...
thewoodwhisperer
It might just depend on the device you're using too. They'll move around as the screen resizes so in some views they might be worse than others.
Brendon_t
I'm viewing on mobile. Android. The ads keep blowing up to full screen if I scroll past them. I have to size them! I never remember seeing them before
thewoodwhisperer
Can you describe that a bit more? I don't speak Android. On my phone, I see a single column of content. When there's an ad, it just scrolls by and is roughly the same width as the content. So what are you seeing on yours that's different? Just trying to understand. wtnhighlander
Sounds like a personal problem, Brendon. Ads on my Android phone look just as Marc described.
