RJsumthn
To add to the complexity I want to round over the outside of the joint. I know how to make it in the shop but I can't figure it out in Sketchup. Does anybody have any ideas?
Byrdie
I would take one side of the component, round it over and then draw the dovetails. After that I would copy and "paste in place." I'll have to try it tomorrow in the morning and see if I'm on the right track. If it works I'll up load the results.
Byrdie
Tried last night after I logged off and it didn't work quite the way I imagined. I was able to draw a joint with dove tails and I was able to draw a joint with a rounded corner. I wasn't able to combine the two. But I'm not done trying either. Dan S
Are you saying you want through dovetails that then has the corner rounded over?
Byrdie
That's the way I read it.
Dan S
This is what you want to do then. I attached some screenshots of doing it with dovetails
