Marco Divetta
Hi guys .... I have a bit of dry paint (water based ) build up on my spray gun in a few awkward places where I can't reach... Is there anything I can use to break it down and flush it out that won't kill my gun ??
Dave H
Can you boil it and than use something like a dental pick I don't know if this would work for whatever product you've ran through your gun, but I've seen latex and oil based paint come off pretty easy from metal with steam guns.
Marco Divetta
I've gone as far as warm water but that didn't do anything but we have a small steam washer in the kitchen where I work and I'll give it a try Thanks higtron
Dave H
I'm not talking about warm water I'm talking about boiling the gummed up parts in a pan of water till the gunk softens or lets loose than pick it out. If you have access to a steam gun I'd try that good luck.
Coop
Marco, I know the feeling. That is aggravating getting paint in places you can't reach.. but I digress. I've seen "helpful hints" at different times for cleaning old paint brushes w/ vinegar and warm water. Might try that!
Tpt life
It is all about the soak. Water based will always soften in a soak. Heat and vinegar are agents that may shorten the process. FWIW fabric softener does major damage to paint if you have that on hand.
