Eric.
What's your favorite brand of abrasives for your drum sander? Where do you buy them? What grits do you use most? Do you prefer pre-cut or economy rolls? Any other comments, I'd like to hear them...
estesbubba
I cut my own from rolls and pretty much stick with 120. Get one of those sandpaper cleaner sticks which will make it last a lot longer. http://www.industrialabrasives.com/sanding-rolls-c-79.html
Dave H
I buy the roll and cut my own using one of the old ones as a template to get the angle cuts and, over all length. When I built my own drum sander before I had the 16/32 I used a piece of paper to find the circumference of my drum than with the sand paper setting on a chunk of ply I found the angle by taking the circumference measurement from one side to other than wind the paper to find the ending point cut found angle. http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com/3indrsaro.html
MatthewCremona
I get my rolls from industrial abrasives. I keep 80 grit in the sander most often. I made a cutting template based on an old precut roll out of a strip of MDF.
