trz
I've glued up a couple of pieces of red oak boards and I've got one strip of the light colored sap wood thru it about a quarter inch wide, I will be staining it with minwax golden oak stain , is there a way to match that sapwood to the color of the rest of it before I stain it. or how would you match the sap wood to the rest of the wood? wtnhighlander
I've heard some folks have success using dye and an artists brush to tint the sapwood. Can't say I've heard about this problem with oak, though. Usually its a dark wood like walnut.
Marco Divetta
Usually I'd just leave it .... But if I had to stain it I'd stain the whole piece first and then try to match the colors, at least then you have something to match to
