Guillaume Breton
i have very few of the precat lacquer i used ot finish a kitcehn left and i have 2 more panels to finish (can'T get the original color anymore, i just have what i have left) i have enough for 1 coat only. I was wondering if i could use the post cat lacquer i have in stock, to act as some kind of base coat, sand it, then apply my pre cat lacquer on top for the color. Same brand, same basic chemical composure. i dont see why not, they both cure chemically, the pre cat should adhere to the post cat lacquer hm ? tyvm ! wdwerker
I would call the MFG on Monday. Some of that stuff is tricky chemistry. I have used out of date pre- cat successfully but I sprayed a test board and let it dry 24 hours then abused it to make sure it had completely hardened before I put it on a piece of furniture. I would think you could spray the post cat and let it cure out for a day or so then sand and top with the pre- cat to avoid any out gassing or reactions.
