Pwalter5110
My sister asked me to build a shelf for her daughter. I had ran across articles about "A" shaped shelves and searched for plans for a "K" shaped shelf and couldn't find any to save my life. I decided to design one in sketchup instead. It is about 3 ft tall. While building it, I realized I couldn't find directions because this has been hands down, the most mentally challenging thing I have build. I am sure this is a walk in the park for a lot of people on here, but there are A LOT of angles, and angled joinery than Needed cut. For most of the joinery, I used 1/4" splines the length of the miter. I also used rabbets and dowels on some parts of the joinery. I finished this a while ago. The deal was, I build it, and my sister painted it. After about 2 months of waiting to get a picture I realized it would never get painted if I didn't do it myself. About a month ago I painted it, and now I am waiting for my brother in law to hang it on the wall. Maybe in a year or two it will be hung Here is the finished piece

wtnhighlander
Wow! You pulled it off quite nicely. Those odd angles must have been a real pain.

wdwerker
Looks great ! All those angles came out well. Now your next step would be curves, maybe a " S " shaped bookcase?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now haha With my wife being pregnant, IF we were having a boy, I was going to go for a "C" shaped shelf. But we are having a girl so an "A" shaped shelf is next. Eric.
Abby? That's my daughter's name. Every time I see your profile pic I have to do a double take because your wife looks just like an ex-girlfriend of mine. But you seem like a happy guy so it can't be the same woman. LOL
