Good Deal? Irwin 48" Parrallel Clamps for $30

Rockler has a special on Irwin 48" parallel clamps. These are less than half the price of Bessey or Jets but I'm somewhat skeptical of their quality.  The reviews on Rocker's site seem pretty good.

Anyone have experience with these? Are they worth picking up a few at this price? Thanks!

Irwin used to be made in America. Then they got bought by Newell/Rubbermaid that is based in the Atlanta suburbs (to my regret).

They moved production overseas and the quality suffered. My oldest Quick Grip clamps are still going strong, but my newest ones don't have the same clamping pressure.

I wouldn't even consider their parallel jaw clamps.

They work just fine clamping things together. However the jaw moves when loose, and you can pinch a finger pretty good.

Same thing with my bessey k bodies. That is why I only hold them from the screw handle when transporting, not the bar, not the fixed jaw, not between the jaws. :)

Thanks guys. I also found these Jorgensen 8048 Cabinet Master's 2 for $54 on Amazon. Might pick these up instead.

So I went to your link and noticed that the shipping is just about as much as the product. Don't know if that is getting my location some how but you might want to look at that before you pull the trigger.
