wojo2 Posted June 11, 2014 Report Share Posted June 11, 2014 Hello, I am building the Split-Top Roubo. I have the new Criss Cross leg mounting hardware from Benchcrafted. All was going well with building out the legs...... until I drilled the hole for the bolt that goes into the barrel nuts on the long stretchers. The hole is supposed to go BEHIND the bottom plate for the criss cross hardware. Of course my hole ended up cutting into this mortise. I need suggestions as to how to fix this. I do NOT want to start over on the leg and front stretcher. I was proposing to use a 1/2" dowel to fill the current hole, and after the dowel is set, redrill the hole for the bolt. I would also plug the hole on the stretcher and drill a new one for the barrel nut. Greatly appreciate any recommendations or feedback regarding this approach.
