Bill Tarbell
My fiance would like me to cut up some blanks for her to carve her own knitting needles. She selected a piece of cherry as her wood (read: color) of choice. Anyone have any thoughts on what finish would be good for the needles? She's new to knitting and i'm new to wood finishes. I'm leaning toward just a clear wipe on poly.
wdwerker
Wipe on poly or Watco Danish oil.
Bill Tarbell
awesome, i happen to have both. Any concern about the danish oil leaving any residue traces on the yarn? My assumption is that it'd be safe to use without any oil transfer after a week or so.
