hellogatsby
Hello, We just had some trees cut in our backyard, one of which was a pine tree. The cutters chopped the trunk into manageable pieces and they are the perfect height for stools to put around our fire pit. What do we need to do to each stump to make it last? I did look through previous posts and saw that pine isn't really the best for outdoor use, but as these will just be extra seats we're not looking for them to last forever, just for a few years. They will be sitting on sand covered with gravel. We would like to leave the bark on. Thank you!
Tpt life
http://www.uccoatings.com/products/anchorseal This product is one of several used to seal the ends of fresh logs so that moisture will escape evenly and reduce checking. wdwerker
I just did a quick search and all the wood preservatives I am familiar with aren't available any more. Read the labels , use rubber gloves and be careful. Seems like most wood preservatives are kinda nasty chemicals.

Tpt life
Yeah, I did not have my brain in gear. If you plan to sit on the end of the log, I doubt you will want to sit on Anchorseal.
