finishing inside windows lots of southern exposure

I am refinishing a wood interior window again, I stained and am ready to protect, read that epifane would work well to protect the wood. I bought gloss for first coat but don't want it glossy. Can I top with some other satin product? If so any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum bugo,

You're on the right track.  Apply all the build coats with a high gloss (6+ coats), then use a satin for the last coat or two to dull it down.  I'm most familiar with Pettit products, but Epifanes has a similar line.  Their rubbed effect would be what you're looking for..
