JBM
Hello all, I'm building a router table and looking at buying a router table top. I'm trying to decide if buying a 27"× 43" vs a 24" x 32" is worth the extra $50. One of the things I will be routing are tongue and grooves for some kitchen cabinets. This means my panels will be 24" x 34". I Would like to see what you experts recommend. Thanks
Llama
Which table are you thinking about buying?

Llama
Asked because it sounds close to the incra table dimensions. I have the incra, and love it. I have the one without the ls positioner. Anyway, no reason to not go big. If you have the room, and don't need to move it around a lot go big.
JBM
I wish I had the money for an ls positioner but just setting up my shop and have too many other tools to invest in.
..Kev
If you have room in your shop (and wallet), you will enjoy the larger size.

mikem
I just finished my router table build, and made my top. I made my 32"x~25". I kept it close to the Woodpecker/Incra dimensions so that if I ever get a commercial fence for my table, I know it will fit. While I am comparing it to my old table, which was 24"x24", I have found the top to be very sufficient for what I use it for. In fact if I had gone with anything bigger I would have had trouble find a place for it in the shop. Good luck with the build!.
Nick2cd
Why not save some money and make the top? Buy a piece of melamine and laminate it to get a rock solid 1.5" thick top. Steve Ramsey has a good router table build video
