Straight Edge Jig

Hi atlinwi202,  When you purchase un-milled boards chances are that the edges are not straight. With this Jig you can clamp the board to the jig and run the metal strait edge down against the table saw fence creating a straight edge on the other cut side of the board. Then as you have a straight edge on one side pull it out of the jig and run the newly cut straight edge down the table saw fence to cut the other side of the board straight to the dimension you need. This is a big time saver when you run these edges on a edge jointer.

this is what I have been looking for after some fun in the shop trying to square up some wood this weekend

will those toggle clamps go deeper than their base? lets say the base is 4/4 high and you want to clamp a 1/2" board would that work? Also, would they go the other way? a 4/4 base and need to clamp 6/4 or something along those lines?
