Today a Canadian soldier standing guard at a memorial was shot dead, and another gunman opened fire in the center block of Parliament hill in Ottawa. Media is still releasing details, but the war on terror has hit close to home today. Its a sad and confusing day.

Out prime minister is scheduled to speak tonight to the country.

Ditto Andy.  Sorry about that bad deal up there, Pug.  Hate to say it, but I think I'm getting a bit desensitized to the never-ending stream of insanity out there.  All you can do is hope that it doesn't land right in your backyard.  Getting off the grid entirely seems a better idea every day.

ABC news reported that the rise in terror attacks may be attributed to the increased effort toward preventing North American ISIS sympathizers from leaving for the middle east.

Perhaps there should be more effort put toward preventing them from COMING BACK!

My mind fails to comprehend how anyone can 'sympathize' with a group that espouses such horrific tactics, regardless of what they claim for motivation.

To the individuals involved, my heart is heavy for each and every one, perpetrator as well as victim. Actions may be dispicable, but people are still people, and it saddens me to know that those who commit such foul deeds actually believe that they are in the right.
