chefmagnus@grics.net
She has seen this article on the web about turning colored pencil slices into rings. http://diply.com/auntyacid/this-guy-created-a-masterpiece-using-only-colored-pencils/56950 I would like to make her one for Christmas. I just got a lathe again. I haven't turned anything since I came home from college and worked for my dad. It has been 20+ years. I guess it is time to knock the rust off. I spent my time making railing spindles for my dad. I haven't ever turned pens yet a ring. I have a Jet 708360 JWL-1642-2EVS 16"x42" EVS PRO Lathe. How do I start making a ring? wtnhighlander
Check Matt's Basement Workshop and Woodgears.ca on Youtube. They each have wooden ring making videos with somewhat different methods. Using the pencils will just involve a lot of epoxy to form them into a turning blank. JerrySats
That's a pretty neat idea and a good looking ring. Let us know the method you use and how it worked for you.
