tedfmcm
Setting up my shop and ready to pull the trigger on a dust collector. I currently only have a hybrid table saw to connect (miter saw as well but that might be shop vac), but plan to add a jointer/planer in short order. I will most likely just move the hoses in the beginning, but would like the option of adding permanent pvc tubes as I refine my shop layout and fill it with tools. I've narrowed down the options to the two JET canister filters as it seems to be the best balance between power, filtration, built-in anti-dust clogging with the vortex cone, and cost. Now the big question, which one do I choose, the 1.5hp or the 2hp? Models dc-1200vx-ck1 and dc-1100vx-ck respectively. I plan to run a dedicated 230v circuit for the DC regardless so that is not an issue. I'm leaning to just spend the extra ~50 bucks for the additional half horse but wanted to see if there is any downside to the additional power. Thanks, Ted
Dave's Not Here
Buy the one with the higher CFM rating. You may not need the higher volume of air movement right now but as you add ducting down the road you will need it.
tedfmcm
That's what I figured...just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing somethign since the cost per benefit seems well worth it.
