chefmagnus@grics.net
I am to the point that I am going to paint my new mobile base. But which kind of paint should I use? Do I need to prime the wood? I am going to spend my shop time tonight filling some holes and adding some screws to beef up the base. Then I plan on sanding everything to 150g or 180g
wdwerker
Regular house paint will work , satin or semigloss trim paint would be my choice. Primer is a good idea.
Eric.
I think a few years of wood dust would give the appropriate patina for a mobile base. Why waste the time and money painting it?
chefmagnus@grics.net
Why paint it? I don't see well and want to paint it black to be high contrast with the floor so I don't break my foot on it. Not going to waste money, we have 2+ quarts of black trim paint left from my kids room. Just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a better option. I am going to sand it up then prime it battleship grey and then paint it black or have the kid paint it black. Black paint also costs more than any other color.
