Routed and painted lettering & graphic in a pine background. Frame is walnut and mulberry. Frame has 2 applications of dark walnut danish oil, entire piece has 4 coats of spar urathane. The next photo is close-up of a detail that bugs me, but no one else notices. Miter joint slippage during glue up. I plan to construct and use a picture frame clamp on the next go-round. Photos are from my phone, hope they aren't too cruddy. And before anyone says it, yes I used the walnut sapwood on purpose. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Does it make a difference? Over time, and with UV exposure, walnut will lighten to a sort of tan color.
