Woodriver air cleaner/filter

I bought a new filter at Woodcraft that said outer filter but it was $19.99. I don't pay that much ever for my furnace filters. Got it home and it's the inner 5 micron filter. I replaced that one and took the outer filter out back and blew it out with my air hose.

Is there any reason I can't just keep blowing these filters out or should I keep a supply of the outer filters?

I've had a Woodriver air cleaner for about a year now and started off by blowing out the outer filter regularly.  It works OK but it seems to degrade the performance- a lot more dust gets through to the inner filter after the outer has been blown out a few times.  I have started to just replace it.

FYI Grizzly sells the same air cleaner (with green paint).  I have had good luck buying the filters from Grizzly instead of Woodcraft- they are about 2/3 the price.
