collinb
Come Spring I will be able to try out my new turning equipment. (Packed in garage for Winter.) I've had my Sears Router Crafter since last Summer. Have plans for it for a table. Just bought last night an old Gil-Bilt lathe. Price was fair. Now I need to get a few parts for it. Motor and belt need replaced. That's the easy. Fortunately the bearings are good. I can get a spur for the motor end for not much. But on the other end I'll need a foot cup whatever it's called. Ideas?
duckkisser
put it on a heavy base that thing will rock and roll on you all day long. you might have a hard time finding attachments for it that looks like a home made lathe or a machine specific for just buffing ect.... I'm planning on a solid mount for it. Already have a suitable table. And am also considering replacing the pipes with something heavier. These models were sold as kits from the 50s to the 70s. Maybe still, I don't know. One purchased the hard parts and built the table for it.
