Popular Post Mzdadoc
Well here is my wife's completed gift from Woodsmith magazine. Curly Maple with Cocobola legs. I didn't even point out all that's wrong with it this time.

Glad she loves it.

atratinus
Very nice work! Better than the original one ffrom Woodsmith, I think. I have been meaning to make this project, please share how you finished the maple. Thanks! Ryan
Mzdadoc
I wanted something simple as I am horrible at finishes. Tim at Woodcraft suggested General Finishes Arm R Seal oil & urethane topcoat. So that's what I used. Not sure I did it right but the look on her face is all that mattered to me. tcarswell
Terrific work man ! How did you like the plans did they cover everything adequately?
Mzdadoc
tcarswell the plans were great. I find that early issues were more vague and harder for me to follow. Being a newb I need all the help I can get.
Firehawk
I did a variation of that one for my wife. She then added some accessories!
wdwerker
Hey Mark, looks great but I always wonder when all the added decorations are going to go up in flames?
..Kev
Very nice piece Mark but, I'd be wondering the same as Steve..
Mzdadoc
Very nice Mark! I just went and bought the supplies for 3 more as gifts this holiday season.
SlurmsMcWoodsy
Phenomenal! The finish is incredible. I've barely done any woodworking, but I used General Finishes for my last project and really liked it. Was it the high gloss top coat? Mine was satin, so I'm trying to get an idea of what the gloss finish would look like.
wouldwurker
I think Mark has the electric candles
Mzdadoc
Thanks! My finish wasn't gloss so it just shows the beauty of the wood. I might do a gloss with at least one of the next three I'm doing.
Firehawk
Hey Mark, looks great but I always wonder when all the added decorations are going to go up in flames? Very nice piece Mark but, I'd be wondering the same as Steve.. I think Mark has the electric candles I guess I needed a better picture as the candles are LED. So not much chance of burning the accessories
keith.d.mullins
Very nice! I like the choice of woods. Shows workmanship in a classy, non tacky way. Glad she likes it.
