duckkisser
thanks guys eric think that says more about your computer then my website maybe time to upgrade? in the past i usualy just use photobucket, have my pictures and then post them on here from that. but im sick of doing that extra step for no reason plus it gets people to look at my other stuff like dave did. the more people who look the more famous i am. the more famous i am the bigger better computer i have and less likely i will talk on here with people with weak computers:)

Eric.
Actually, no, my computer is fine. They all are. And to be honest, you're kind of breaking forum rules by simply posting a link to your blog without copying and pasting the text in your post. So now you know. From now on, you need to include the text and images you're linking to. Thanks, The Management.

Coop
Duck, great looking piece! Although it's probably obvious to others, how did you do the "acrylic inlaid rings"?
duckkisser
Cooper When i turned the box I cut the 3 groves. I then painted the bottom a blue color slightly darker then the acrylic stone I was using. I then glued in the stones using superglue. After sanding the surface flat I mixed up some epoxy adding in some paint additive to give the epoxy a purple tint to it. The epoxy filled the gaps inbetween the stones and it tinted the light blue a rich purple blue. The trick is the paint in the bottom of the groves which hide any spots I missed giving the appearance that the rings are more solid then they are. If. Did not do that you might see gaps where I missed and then see the wood underneath. Here is a tutorial I put together of inlaying on my web site https://featheredwoodworking.wordpress.com/2014/07/01/352/
Coop
Thanks for the tutorial. What kind of paint did you use for the initial paint in the bottom?
