Coop
Did you get the riser block? If not, run back and get it. I love my Grizz. Got the block and the re-saw fence. Don't even put the piece of crap blade on that comes with it or you'll be pissed at the saw. You'll be pleased! Money well spent! Was I unclear that I like mine

I wanted to get to know the normal machine. Plus I'm not fully convinced on risers yet I have read some iffy things about it. Which resaw fence? How do you like the fence over the normal one for basic activities? Or do you just switch between them? I would hope to use one all the time. ..Kev
I rarely use my fence.. But I don't do much resawing or ripping on the saw either.. When I get the bigger one in and set up, it will be dedicated for those activities..

bushwacked
Stock one.. I made a slight adjustment to it for the drift angle.. How bad was the drift?
..Kev
Not bad really.. Marc's video is pretty good on it.. Look up his band saw set up video.

..Kev
It's really not hard to get the saw set up.. The instruction manual for that one is actually pretty good. Just don't skim thru it, take it step by step and you'll be fine.
Tom Cancelleri
I bought this little tool last year at the wood show at the Carter both. Was 6 or 7 bucks. It's blue anodized machined aluminum with a rare earth magnet to hold it to the blade, there are cut aways for the tooth set. You stick it to the blade and move the fence close to it and measure the distance at the front and back of the tool to set the fence. Simple and effective if you change your blade often. It doesn't work well for 1/4" blades it's a 3/8" blade - 3/4" blade kind of tool.

As for as drift, I don't know if it's the machine or the blade or I'm just darn lucky, but it's not an issue. I believe I can re-saw tissue paper if I tried. Well, almost! mikem
I skipped the riser on my 14" saw. I have no desire to get the riser for it at this time. I use the stock fence on mine, and use it frequently for ripping and some resaw
..Kev
I don't have the riser on mine either. I know a few people who do tho and haven't hear anything negative about it.

Llama
I can't imagine any issues with the riser. Setting the tension the first time takes an extra minute, so maybe people done like that. I use the stock fence, and have no desire to get a different one.
estesbubba
I really liked my G0555 but sold it when I bought my Grizzly 17". I did make a bigger table for mine plus custom fence with resaw attachment. The fence would also lock down in the back so no deflection. bushwacked
going off Marc's recommendation I found ... I think I may go with Wood Slicer 1/2 inch Resaw Bandsaw Blade and then a Timber Wolf Bandsaw Blade 1/8" x 93-1/2", 14 TPI and have those as my 2 starting blades ... plus the stock blade if I ever need something like that until I figure out the machine and what it likes for what I am doing thoughts? Llama
Can't go wrong with those. Although I have never needed an 1/8" blade.
..Kev
I'm with Mel on the 1/8" blade. I've never had need for a blade that small..
bushwacked
I was just thinking tight cuts .. but maybe I do not need 1/8"? what would be good for my smallest blade?
..Kev
I run 1/4 and don't have any issues
