RichardA
I was gonna change my oil, but then I got high, but then I got high. And I missed it, got high and I missed it and it rolled right by! Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show!
mrrhode04
I drive a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, not a wood hauling car but when I need to get larger pieces I borrow my brother 04 2500HD.

Popular Post wouldwurker
My daily driver? I'm not sure of his name. I typically roll up the partition after I get in the back seat.

RichardA
wdwerker, Here ya go....... 2003 E 150 full size Ford van with 91,000 miles. LOVE it! Will carry full size sheets of plywood and lumber up to 10' long and can leave material overnight if necessary with safety from weather and/or theft. Will carry any and store most all my tools if I had to do it. Bought it used with 80,000 miles on it six years ago. It is nice living in a small town and being retired as far as rolling up the miles on a vehicle goes. Most days it doesn't move at all! Rog My wife wanted to use my pick up the other day... She went to start it......nothing! Had to charge the battery, it had sat so long without moving.... I like retired!
Rapid Roger
My wife wanted to use my pick up the other day... She went to start it......nothing! Had to charge the battery, it had sat so long without moving.... I like retired! I HATE when that happens! I made up my mind years ago that I will NEVER have a vehicle that won't start because of a battery or have bad tires. Those are the first things I check on a regular basis besides oil and water. As a teenager, I kept having trouble with tires and batteries and decided that those were the most important parts of a car. I do not price shop for either batteries or tires anymore. It is top notch or nothing! Rog
wtnhighlander
I miss the days when a battery died slowly, letting you know it was time to replace. The last few times I have had a battery expire, it was an all or nothing event. Crank fine one time, next time not even a click.
jHop
1998 Subaru Forester. 1155xx on the odo, 120xxx on the engine. (replaced the engine within 30 days of buying the car.) I get about 20-22 mpg, and can haul up to six sheets of 3/4 ply on the luggage rack. (I'm making a lumber rack so I don't lose another retaining bolt.) Love the 'Ru, but getting to the point where I need another car. One with leg room in the back seat. (Oldest is 6'1", and sits with his knees under his chin when we all get into the car.) Chuck Melton
2014 4Runner Limited. It's the first Toyota I have in quite a while (the last three vehicles were Honda / Acura). I am not too fussy about hauling wood in it. I put a pretty good scratch in the plastic on the rear tailgate hauling an elm slab last week. I think a utility trailer is in my future. If I scratched the leather i'd be pissed.
Virginia Mark
I drive a 2013 Ford Flex, I have a 5'X10' utility trailer for hauling 4X8 sheets of plywood and lumber
ColinF
To and from work it's a 99 ford f150 4x4 or an 04 Mazda 6. At work it's a Kenworth T-300 with a 24' flatbed and a boom, the ultimate lumber and tool hauler if the boss would let me take it home and it got better than 5 mpg! ColinF
Stingy boss or pissy insurance carrier?it depends on the day there's so much BS that goes into a DOT rating for a company, and every little thing that goes wrong notches your score up and then the state guys keep a close eye on you, it's pretty ridiculous, hell the DOT physicals are getting so bad if you have any thing wrong it could disqualify you from driving. However,he would probably let me borrow it if I needed to, of course I would have to pay for fuel, and considering the best mileage I've ever gotten was 7, I'll find an alternative!
