wdwerker
My client had a roll top desk that he wanted to use as his back bar. So I had to modify the desk Add a dishwasher drawer in the knee space plus a bar sink. match the finish plus change some of the trim. Built a display for his antique beer stein collection and a solid oak 10 ft bar to go in front of everything.

wdwerker
I took pictures during the entire build if there is plenty of interest I could do a Project Journal. The job turned out nice but I kinda hate working with red oak.

Janello
Fantastic work Steve. What material is that weave you used as banding on the display case? I see you carried it into the edge of the bar top too. Bring on the journal!
wdwerker
We found this company that does CNC router cut moldings. It's a double celtic knot weave. They scaled the pattern down to fit the available space on the roll top desk. I will have to dig around to find the companies name,
wdwerker
Heartwood carving . It was around $100 per 8 ft strip. Guy said it takes about 3 hrs to carve one.
Janello
Not exactly cheap, but nice touch, especially on the display unit.
