Eric.
Geez Vinny, do you ever sleep? I thought I was deprived. Good Lord. What is that on your coffee maker? Nitrous?
TerryMcK
Looking good so far Vin. I suppose you are making this for Christmas and need to use every available hour?

Slept great. I got a good 40 minutes 2. Yes. Don't look at me!
wouldwurker
Panels cut. Used BBP for the sides since the tops of the ply are exposed. Won't have any issues a with the slight difference in thickness.
..Kev
Just curious why the tops of the ply will be exposed? You could attach a strip there right? Unless, of course, that's the look you wanted?
wouldwurker
Its in the design. When the lid is open you see the tops of the side panels. I could edge band it, but will paint it anyway, so the BBP worked out great.
TerryMcK
I've got an order for one of these after Christmas for a friend who has a recent new born. Interested to see how long it takes you Vinny. I'm going to use those fancy hinges with a spring in. I think Marc used them on his. My friend wants his just varnished instead of paint so I may edge band.
Eric.
You can't gauge it by how long it takes Vinny. He doesn't sleep. And he floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee.
wouldwurker
I bought the rockler torsion hinches. 55 bucks I think. Well I started at 6:30. Going to Domino instead of pocket screws as well. Sides cut and sanded. Will flush trim. Wondering if I can flush trim the tops of those side panels as well. Not sure yet if the lid actually sits on those sides

TerryMcK
Well how ever long it takes you Vin I'll multiply it by 30 in my case cos I like my bed. Yes I can get those Rockler hinges locally here in England.
wouldwurker
Curves done. Carve out the 1/2 hour I played with my son upstairs. This would have sucked w/o a flush trim bit by the way.

wdwerker
I'm trying to figure out the HVAC duct/ dust collection application. My spindle sanders dust collection is awful.
davewyo
It looks like the packaging from a set of bedsheets (and some duct tape). D
wouldwurker
I'm trying to figure out the HVAC duct/ dust collection application. My spindle sanders dust collection is awful. It's just a 10" HVAC duct hood, with foam weather stripping on the sharp edges (hence the duct tape). I use the hood over the general area when I'm hand sanding. It's just resting on the spindle sander in that pic.
