wouldwurker
All that reality show crap ruins good contest shows. I loved Top Shot, but so much drama.....especially for a bunch of marines. It's a contest to shoot closest to the bulls eye....why do I need to care about the dynamic of them living together in the house?
Eric.
So your wife will watch it with you and buy the panties they advertise during the commercial breaks.

Rick A McQuay
I set my timer. I tried an episode of Face Off but it was 90% drama and 10% makeup, as was a similar series about special effects and set design. The one show that was really good was for Jim Henson's Creature Shop, that was more about puppeteering and artistry than drama. A similar show about body painting was actually better than I expected but unfortunately Dish got into a dispute and that channel disappeared with only two episodes to go. Tom Crawford
Just watched Framework on Spike. Thought it was really poor - did not show any woodworking. Will not watch again.
Freddie
I just finished watching it myself. The only thing I gathered from it is that Freddy is a douchebag.

wouldwurker
But not after C. And sounding like 'A' as in neighbor and weigh. What about the sentence 'Jim Nabors is Way Cool' ? (Extra credit if you get that reference)
Tom Cancelleri
I watched it and played the tool identification game. I will say they all seemed to be drinking green koolaid on the show. As far as showing any woodworking, that didn't happen. Also, Freddy's piece was ugly as sin. I think of all the pieces Garrett's was the coolest. Followed by the big Star Trek insignia shaped table.
mkrusen
Yeah I was not sorely disappointed. Way too much drama. I also really disliked the judges. I foresee myself watching all of the episodes and being pissed off the entire time! I'll be interested to see what kind of pieces they can come up with when they have a little more free reign with their materials. I wasn't a fan of the whole reclaimed materials from derelict boats thing.
wouldwurker
You know there's always going to be some dumb twist. This week, you'll be building a shaker end table.... (queue suspenseful music.) <Host unveils table> With Graham Crackers! With special guest judge Guy Fieri! "This end table is out of the park, brother!" <takes bite of marshmallow drawer pull>

AstroDave
Ok just finished watching with my wife and daughter...they both loved the !@#@!# out of the !@$#@!# show. But I personally don't care for all the Q#$@#!$@#$ !@@!#@! they say Well to be honest if I view this as simply entertainment with a woodworking bent I can deal with it. However as for real woodworking design or instruction the jury is definitely out but expect it to come back with a not guilty verdict. My wife said be sure to record it because "I'd like to watch this with you": So that's a bonus.
Rick A McQuay
If you go into this expecting woodworking, Shaker furniture, hand cut dovetails, you will quickly be disappointed. My biggest complaint is the editing, really, really, fast cuts like a music video. I paused a few times to get a better look at the projects but even then there just wasn't enough detail. The mirror thing they all praised, looked like junk. The woodworking looked nice (what I could see in the five millisecond flash) but if I saw that somewhere I would assume it was waiting to be thrown out. Criticisms on heights were spot on, there just wasn't enough thought put into the designs. The critique was choppily edited and rushed. The judges appear to be focused on the negative although that could easily be the editing. Less focus on drama than I expected. I didn't hate the show but if it was about anything other than furniture design I wouldn't watch a second episode.
