Popular Post ..Kev
Got this picture shortly after Christmas from some pretty happy clients.. Most of you will remember the builds as I posted them here in the journal section during the builds. I built both tables and the candle stand. There's also 2 more tables that I built in that living room.. Kind of cool to see your pieces in place!
Raefco
I tried to" like it" but it wouldn't let me so Ill just say "pretty cool" only thing better than getting paid is when they like it enough to send/post pics.

..Kev
Very nice. That is one thick slab of walnut. Thanks.. It's black walnut (air dried) from a local mill and I have another slab just like it. It's a heavy 8/4..
pdjms1
Very nice slabs and looks like a well executed bowtie to boot. What kind of wood is the base of the coffee table made out of?

pdjms1
Holy Lumber, Tidos.... That looks like some thick stock! Are they glue ups or solid? If they are solid with legs that thick you should start exporting them to Texas down here as secondary storm cellars! lol. Also, I love the look of the substantial legs just know the cost of getting thicker stock in these parts goes up substantially after 12/4. ..Kev
Thanks.. There are 3 - 8/4 pieces put together but, it's hard to tell with the way the grain matched up.

Coop
That looks great Dude! Here we go again With live edge and walnut to boot! You guys and your walnut. I bought a 4/4 x 8' x7" board yesterday and paid $7.75 per bf. I feel like I went out drinking with Bill Cosby! Just kidding, I like B.C. ..Kev
$7.75 is cheap compared to my HW dealer. That slab came from my lumber mill tho and was significantly cheaper and I didn't have to drink with Bill to get it Thanks! I get a really warm feeling any time I get the chance to be in their house. ..Kev
Awesome man...curious, do you give you clients 'care instructions' ? Not much to these really.. Simple normal dusting is all that's required.
bushwacked
Be sure to tell them to use pine sol .. Preferably lemon scented ... To clean it every day I kid .. But that sure is a great table. Hopefully they respect the work that went into it.

wdwerker
I tell my clients to use very diluted Simple green or Murphy's oils soap and lightly spray it on a soft cloth if they need to clean up a mess on a wood finish. Never use full strength or spray cleaners directly on the finish. Learned that from a antique conservator.
