morganew
Making a new chop for a crisscross, and I was able to get some extra thick and wide Cherry. it's currently s4s and still 2 3/4 thick. I could plane it down, or bandsaw and then plane, but it's only an extra 1/4. Is there anything I am NOT thinking of that would make the extra 1/4 a problem? Thanks in advance; Morgan
popper
As fare as I know you would only lose a 1/4" of travel, that's all. I might be wrong though.

I've looked at the plans and I don't see anything that would suddenly be "off", but I figured it would be worth checking here
wdwerker
Unless the distance from the hand wheel to the crisscross mechanism was somehow affected. Play with the hardware and it should be obvious if it would.
