It's the project-that-never-gets-done which is most difficult because they're the most tempting. Wonder what it would take to get parts for that $20 lathe chassis? I have to keep in mind that these are "interesting" only lest my garage get filled up with things other than measurably productive work. Some times when you really have your foot stuck into the project, in the blink of an eye it turns in to a money pit. There is a website called vintagemachinery.org dedicated to this kind of thing. You look at some of the photos there and the stuff looks new because the people have done such a nice job. Kind of like restoring a car. I just never got around to it and never used the thing once. I truly admire those of you who take these older machines and bring them back to life. In my teen years, My parents allowed me to throw down $500 on a 1963 Chrysler New Yorker. It was at a flea market and the owner stated all missing parts were in the trunk. . Tom Cancelleri Posted January 20, 2015 Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 The ReStore by my house had an old 3" jointer with a wooden stand and a motor with a big belt going up to it.
