Scott Bailey
In the market for some squares and I was looking at these, which seem to be fine for the price, but I thought I'd ask. Would like to spend around what these cost... I currently have one adjustable 12" and one carpenters 24".http://www.amazon.com/Grizzly-H2993-Machinists-Square-4-Piece/dp/B0000DD4EE/ref=pd_sbs_indust_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=19KZ8HWS8S01A8QGE7CW
TerryMcK
I have a similar set, which was slightly more expensive, that I reserve for machine setups and occasional woodworking. The small squares are ideal for instance to check the insides of web frames for squareness to legs. I usually use a 4" machinist square for day to day woodworking when planing square edges. I was originally a mechanical engineer (many moons ago) and was brought up with machinists squares hence why I use them. I use adjustable squares for marking out. So the answer to the question is they will be fine and there is a review by one guy on Amazon who is semi-pro and he finds them ok.

RichardA
yeah i saw that review but I trust you guys more thanks I have a set like that, I got mine from Rockler, a little more expensive, but not that much.... They're great for setting machinery, checking your cuts, and for checking your adjustable squares......... The price is right, I'd go for it if I didn't already have a set!
