Coop
I have the HF monster dc and use the Rockler 4" hose, which is also a monster. Two questions, both kind of related. Will the weight of this hose, as it goes to the floor over to the dc, when attached to the ds, affect the alignment of the drum. I do disconnect it after use. Has anyone made a support for their hose off of the ds? I also use it with my 735 and it completely blocks the left 1/3 of the outfeed table. Not only is it a pain in the butt, but it's also causing me to use only the right side of my blades only. Has anyone devised something to get their hose out of the way? wtnhighlander
My DC flex hose is flexible enough to turn 90* out of my 735. Haven't had an issue with it blocking the work path so far. I suppose you could add a ridgid plastic 90 if needed.
ottacat
I have the same issue with 735's dust port. I have flexible hose but I have to hold it to the side using a roller stand.
wtnhighlander
Some PVC pipe and elbows could make a simple bracket to slip ove the back elevation scews and provide something to hold the hose out of the way. Unless you have the planer open so far that the elevation screws are no longer exposed.
Barbancourt
I have exposed ceiling joists in my shop, so I drove a nail and looped a piece of string under the hose as it exits the 735. This keeps the outfeed area clear.
21meyer
This is my solution to the dust collector hose getting in the way. With the chip blower on the planer, I never have any problems with the sharp 90 elbow.
Brendon_t
I run my hose over a roller stand off to the side.
dwacker
Rockler sells dust collector hose hooks. They are just plastic hooks but are handy. I later found out you can get the exact same ones at lowes in the electrical section for 1/3 the cost.
Chet
I have also added a 90 to my 735. I picked it and a quick connect up at Woodcraft, it works real well
