alversod
I've bought a 60's make powermatic 45 vairable speed and am still getting acquainted with it. I've notice wobble on faceplate turning on three separate faceplates but feel no bearing play and see nothing obviously wrong with the shaft. Would appreciate any trouble shooting assistance. Arminius
If you can, mount a dial indicator on the lathe bed and measure what sort of wobble you have at the perimeter of the faceplate.
alversod
that suggestion seems to put me on track, I can produce no wobble with the spurr but measuring the threads show .020 undersized compared to a 1"8 bolt. I've got a friend with a newer lathe and am going to visit this morning. So far it sounds Like a weld up then turn back down at the least.
