wtnhighlander
I think the only way to achieve a perfect finish on such a piece is with great patience and care. And a good spray rig. Not being very experience with spraying myself, I would probably work with a very thin finish and an air brush to slowly build each coat.
wdwerker
Spray and use a flap wheel lightly between coats to de-nib.
birhade_jitesh@yahoo.co.in
thanks for your advices I am thinking to rub/use abrasive powder against such work piece and to apply/force motion, I ll use sheet sander or flap wheel. I hope, it works.
Trip
Not a carver myself – I’ve dabbled a bit: some accents, a bit of lettering, nothing exciting – just to enhance a piece, not the piece itself --- so not really a carver… When I got stuck, I’ve reached out to Chris Pye with a few questions --- he’s always been generous with his time… I’d take a better quality snap (read as in-focus) and from two or three angles… Send him an eMail and ask his opinion: http://www.chrispye-woodcarving.com/home/contact Good luck! wouldwurker
Curious to see what you find out. I've struggled with getting consistent 'smoothness' inside of all the nooks and crannies, resulting dark and light spots as they suck up more finish/color.
