Mandie Vanderwal
Okay. Sooo keep in mind this project is limited to toddler sleepovers so the easiest solutions would be sooo appreciated.. I just stripped, sanded, and wood conditioned the stair treads of my staircase. I applied two coats of oil stain, and the color isn't amazing. It's kind of orange and black, and I'm not loving it. It doesn't look much different after the second coat, so I'm assuming a third coat is both too late (I won't have another sleepover until 3 days from now.. Can I apply something over this to darken it (I'd like more of a dark espresso) or is it too late??!! Pleeeease tell me my options that aren't resanding it hahah Thank you in advance! wdwerker
Scuff it up with a Scotch Brite pad and try a gel stain. Follow the directions on the can.
