Erik Joven Posted February 27, 2015 Report Share Posted February 27, 2015 Hi guys - Just starting to get into the craft and i am particularly into hand tools (planes like older stanleys or newer LN stuff i guess as well ). I want to start building up my hand tool set so - anything old would be cool as i am also interested in restoration. I've done a few restorations on some Stanley #3s and loved it and came out great. Ideally just looking for: Planes (traditional western or Japanese) Spokeshaves Chisels you get the idea. Anyway if anyone in the NY (long island) area or NY/NJ/PA metro area has a bunch of older things they want to sell - i would be interested Cheers! RichardA Posted February 27, 2015 Report Share Posted February 27, 2015 Ebay.... Look closely, ask questions of the seller get better pictures. I bought a Stanley #2,#3, #4, for less than $125. Had to rehab them, and pick up a couple parts for the #2, and now I have 3 great planes. Got a Fulton #7 boat anchor, and now it makes wood so thin it only has one side.
