croessler
Folks, I have exhausted all of the avenues I know of looking for this.... I have a Ridged TP1300 planer. 2 of the blade lock screws have rounded off and the parts have been discontinued by the mfg. I have tried epartsdirect.com and a few others to boot. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't see spending hundreds for a new planer just because I can't get a 75cent part. Thanks, Chris

croessler
It's a hex head, but would care if it fit.

dwacker
It's a hex head, but would care if it fit. He said ryobi no longer stocks them because they are an off the shelf part you can get at Fasten all or any bolt supplier. They changed the head to square in the newer version but still available off the shelf.
croessler
Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it... I just wish I knew what thread and head size to ask for... It's not in docs anywhere
collinb
This is my approach when I've needed parts for machines out of production and no longer having parts available: If you can get a measurement, try Fastenal, maybe Grainger, or as a last resort there's always the Thomas Register. Arminius
Ridgid are always metric, and the tools supplied with the planer are 4mm and a 8mm/10mm wrench. If you have those, you should be able get the head size fairly quickly. After that it will just be a matter of figuring out whether it is a coarse or fine thread. dwacker
Just take one out and drive to a nut and bolt place and they will match it up for you.
RichardA
If there's an Ace Hardware nearby.. Take the bolt you have, if they don't have a bolt, they will be able to size it for you.
croessler
well, it only took me 2 1/2 hours to get the darn things loose enough to remove the blades. Now I can take a couple over to Fastenal and hope they have something that will work.Unfortunately, Ace Hardware has the worst selection of metrics possible... I have tried before. I really appreciate the help. Especially your assistance PB that was definitely above and beyond.
