Immortan D
Does a good job. The diameter of the disk is 7''. If someone is interested in this jig and need more details, ask here.
wdwerker
Nice looking jig. I would buy a spare drill , that kind of use may wear it out .
Immortan D
Thank you. The drill I'm using is about 15 years old. I only use it in my jigs. I have two of those drills, just in case.
wtnhighlander
Jigs like this are a good place for those drills that go on sale at HF every quarter or so. Run to failure and replace. For the same money, you'll likely get more life from a half-dozen Drillmasters than one Dewalt (in this sort of application, anyway).

Those old english drills I'm using seem to endure for now. I don't get to use my jigs that often anyways. Unless I'm shaping something, I always choose the scraping and manual sanding path. Coop
That is a neat deal. Well thought out and fabricated jig!

Immortan D
Thanks Coop and Dave. I'm willing to make a "lathe adapter" for this jig, but decided to test my drill's ability to handle that load, so I turned a piece by simply holding it with a threaded 3/8'' rod: I turned it using a regular bench chisel.
Lee Bussy
Nifty. How's the run-out on that plate?
Immortan D
Just now, Lee Bussy said: Nifty. How's the run-out on that plate? Pretty low, pretty much thanks to the drill I'm using.
