cjasfenton
Came across a Stanley 220 block plane recently, and the blade needs some work. What bevel angle works best on a block plane? Google seems to be all over the map on this one.
Tpt life
The 220 has a 20° bed. I keep a 25° grind on mine and use it as a utility device. I can easily hog or smooth face grain. I might grind a bit lower if I did not have another block set up for end grain. I might grind a little higher if I were trying to use it to super smooth narrow edges.
cjasfenton
Thanks. All-around utility device is what I'm looking for, so that'll work.
G S Haydon
Between 25>30 should be cool. If the edge fails quick move it closer to the 30.
