Popular Post mike johnston
I made this little nightstand last weekend out of some left over VG Douglas Fir. It matches a bigger box I posted a few weeks ago. I had heck of a time all day last Saturday, do to a new pair of cheap reading glasses that I wore all day with the thin plastic protective coating still on them. It made cutting the dovetails really tough, as I had a really hard time seeing my ruler, and could not see my knife marks at all. When I finally discovered the plastic was still on the glasses it was time to quit for the day. But i was relieved I wasn't having a stroke .
Coop
Mike, I would find that plastic film asap and put it back on the glasses. You did a great job!!
CessnaPilotBarry
Nice! Excellent use of the grain, and I like the beads and feet.
bgreenb
Mike that's beautiful. The beads are my favorite part. What kind of finish are you gonna use? Also, can you buy VG Douglas fir specifically or do you have to pick through the stack to find VG? I really like the way it looks.
Chet
Thats real nice, Mike. I have always thought about doing something out of doug fir, just never followed thorough for what ever reason.
wtnhighlander
Very nice, not even considering you worked 'blind'!
