dodgeram99
On my weekend I plan to start a workbench build. This will be my first workbench build. I plan on using Douglas fur for the top and pin for the bottom. Will the domino 500 with the largest tennon work if I use 4? Or should I just use traditional m&t? ..Kev
I considered this when I built my OF table and chose to use drawboard M&T because I just wasn't sure either.. I look forward to seeing the responses to this thread!
Trip
Assuming a traditional hand tool bench where you occasionally pound-out a mortise or two: D500, no… D700 using Steve’s “Domino Width Trick”*, max plunge with cross-pinning, yea… *Steve, every “trick” seems to need a catchy name… You can come-up with you own name, if you like... wdwerker
For a piece of furniture I would risk it w 10 mm extra wide tenons at full max depth using a D500. For a workbench old school is the way to go. Too much force is going to be applied to a bench.

wdwerker
I make my own Domino stock in 3 different widths for each size cutter. So I can use a 5 mm regular, medium or extra wide, settings I , II, and III.

Eric.
Traditional, ideally draw-bored. Benches need to be built to tolerate extraordinary stresses. Pretend you're building the chair that this guy is sitting in:
