Cliff
Ordered some s4s Padauk from Bell Forest. Nothing major, I think it's 3/4" x 5" x 8" or something. Two boards at $9.99 each. stickered it with some other wood stickered above it to add weight. Been 4-5 days, took a look at it last night and it's twisted. This same thing happened with some poplar from Lowes, so I can see that apparently the time has come for never again getting s4s lumber. Anyway to fix the twisted wood without planing it down to nothing? I bough it this size because I need it to be rougly this size. I can cut it down to 3" wide and a couple of inches off either side but I don't think that will fix the twist.
Eric.
Wood moves, especially when it's shipped across the country. You won't get it flat by planing it...that's what jointers are for. Cut it down to the smallest possible lengths before jointing to preserve as much thickness as possible.

Good thing I got the blades sharpened.
