I couldn't find much info about if on the forum since everything with "wood" comes up. Has anybody worked with it? What domestic does it closely resemble? wdwerker Posted April 16, 2015 Report Share Posted April 16, 2015 I just looked it up and Australian Blackwood is just a little harder than soft maple and a little more stable too. I've only made a few small pieces of furniture with it, but I've used it for flooring, kitchen cabinet doors and entry doors quite a bit. It should make a good bench.
