Tom Cancelleri
Been working since 9am. It's now almost 1am here. Still not done. Damn staples in the padding that was under the carpet took a long time to remove. Had to cut some wonderboard. Move stuff, yada yada yada. Progress so far. Btw, the Kapex, and bandsaw are killing it with the cuts.

wdwerker
That stuff is tough on blades. Your results look good!
Tom Cancelleri
That oshlun blade is holding its own. The cuts are as clean as when I started. Blade was new this morning. We'll see how it does on some hardwood when I'm done.

xxdabroxx
Flooring sucks, I could watch sparks come off of my table saw blade as I cut the laminate we installed. They must make that stuff out of anything they can grind up and glue back together. I have a swamp cooler and didn't leave enough expansion room, so make sure you leave plenty of gaps at the walls, particularly if you have big humidity swings. We had to pull the baseboard back off and trim the ends with a dremmel vibrating cutter thing to keep it from bowing. It was less than fun. In hindsight the 40 or so feet of straight run down the hall and living room without a threshold was a bad idea.

I just so happened to have some scraps that were 11/32" so I cut that up into little pieces to used as spacers.
pghmyn
Looks identical to the flooring I did at my brothers house. He loves it. Good work so far.
Tom Cancelleri
I just pulled up the first 5 rows to fix a small little gap that appeared at the ends. Took about 45 minutes to pull up and put it back down. I also cut a new piece around the air register, that I damaged pulling up the second row. Gonna have it all done in the next few hours. ..Kev
That attention to detail will pay off big time! Glad to hear it's nearly complete
Tom Cancelleri
Moulding done in half the room. That Kapex makes some seamless miter joints. Filled the nail holes. This is kind of fun, it's amazing how much i am using woodworking techniques to do this.

wdwerker
Gap free trim is like a picture frame it sets off the floor and makes the whole thing look better. Great looking job !

A little bit of caulk goes a long ways too, so long as you are painting as well. Crazy how much of a difference it makes when you seal the little gaps. Tom Cancelleri
I was pretty happy with how the trim came out. Had to make some half circle reliefs in the trim for my rear speaker.
