..Kev
Looks like lots of room in there for electrical, ducts, and insulation! Nice progress
Jim DaddyO
Well, it does not look like much progress, but the floor is all insulated and closed in now. Whew, I am getting soft in my old age.

wtnhighlander
Now you can start building stuff that shows! It will go fasy now, until it is in the dry, then slow down again.
Jim DaddyO
Well, the rafters got all put together today. I didn't take many photos, but I did do my longest video yet. I still need a lot of practice and editing and such. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Nc20keEvc Enjoy, and thanks for watching.

Jim DaddyO
Thanks folks, I think I may be taking it easy today. Just a bit stiff and sore when I got up this morning...lol.
Jim DaddyO
I did a little pre assembly on the framing for the windows today. Not much, but it will save some hours when doing the walls. As always, the full story and photos are at my blog http://watertoneworkshop.blogspot.ca/
Jim DaddyO
With a lot of help from a neighbour, it is starting to look like something now.

ColinF
I like the windows looks good, you'll be moving in before ya know it the rate your going!
sjeff70
The way you've presented this might give some the confidence to build their own. A nice simple design. Motivated builders would just need a little money and elbow grease. Lets see how we do on the utilities though...great progress so far! Jim DaddyO
I got the rest of the wall framing in and the windows cut out. A few odd jobs like the second top plate is in and the cripple studs over the window.
..Kev
Sweet! Looks like you're just about ready for some trusses.
Coop
Jim, you do GOOD work. Congrats to having a great neighbor.
Jim DaddyO
Thanks for the comments all, I am having fun, but wearing myself out...lol. My neighbour pounds in nails for a living, so he is great to have around. He is busy for a while, so I am doing a bunch of small stuff for a bit. I just got a mini scaffold that ought to come in handy, ladders are not my friend with the way my knee is, and now is the time I need to get up off the floor a bit. An 18" wide platform is much better than a ladder rung to stand on.

Jim DaddyO
Well. I got the end rafters in place between rain storms. It was easier than I thought it would be.
ColinF
Are you going to leave the ceiling vaulted? Looking good, especially for working between rain storms, working like that sucks!
Jim DaddyO
Yes, the finished ceiling will be on the 2 x 6 collar ties, giving me almost and extra foot. Just enough to prevent a light being taken out when flipping an 8 footer end for end.

I wish I had that kind of head room in my shop, I got 7' to the bottom of the joists, by the time you add lights I lose 4 more inches. There's no up ending sheet goods in my shop
